Google heading for…. what?
Yes, you heard that correctly — Google is primarily associated as a search engine company, and the company that owns YouTube, Waymo, Jigsaw, among others. [1]
But they are also trying to penetrate another crowded space — Retail. That’s right — you might be thinking what or how they may disrupt this already competitive space.
The Verge, a technology-based website, was first to break the news on May 20th, 2021. Like Apple, Google will follow a similar store layout- showcasing all their user-friendly products. [2]
The larger question — will Google still be known as a Technology company or will people start to think of Google disrupting other sectors?
My personal opinion is that although Google, like Amazon, is venturing into a brick-and-mortar type business model, they will still be known as a technology-based company.
