Emerging Social Media Platforms
Facebook. Twitter. Linkedin. Instagram. TikTok. These are just some of the major Social Medial platforms that people are familiar with — but, as with any new entrant into an established space, there are always under-rated companies that have the ability to take a large share of the market.
Take TikTok, for example — essentially its YouTube Shorts or Instagram reels, but is targeted mainly to Generation Y and Generation Z and is marketed in a fun, but educational way. This case study has a professional upside — the relationship between influencers and partnering with major brands.
Here are some emerging platforms, as mentioned by Influencer Marketing Hub: [2]
- Triller: AI-based platform that allows users to make professional-based videos, similar to TikTok.
- Periscope: Streaming-based platform similar to that of Zoom or Microsoft Teams — streaming can be done both domestically and abroad.
- SteemIt: Blockchain-based platform that allows users to curate content, with each hashtag generating cryptocurrency based on the popularity.
Although these platforms may have not gained much traction, they are “sleepers” that can have a tremendous impact not only on their users but companies that may shift the way they market their services. As seen by what these platforms are, they are trying to position their platform in leading technologies, such as Crypto and AI.
It is always important to stay ahead of the curve in any industry, regardless the sector that you operate in.
